The Wheel of the Year keeps turning and as we move through the circle of life, let us pause to consider where this turn of the Wheel has brought us. Samhain/Halloween has come and gone. We are now fully into the dark half of the year. It's quite obvious that the days have become shorter. So, what can we do during the dark time?
The Ancient Ones used this time of the year for activities that would hopefully get the final preparations for Winter accomplished. The nights grew longer, the weather grew colder and Winter storms forced people to spend more time indoors. The family gathered together into their nuclear units to plan, relax, and discuss life issues. People had more "downtime" to contemplate life and consider those things that might be helpful to assure better success in the future. They fed the Fire of life in order to keep it warm and glowing for their comfort and their needs.
One activity that many find important to do is a spiritual/psychological house cleaning. It is good to think about parts of our personalities that make us stumble, or fail. We need to look inside ourselves and shine a light on these 'shadows' of our nature and try to come to terms with them. There usually is no instant resolution for those things that trip us up, especially if they are ingrained.
I would be happy to do a Tarot assessment for you to help you discover how you might begin to dance in time with your shadow self and move forward on The Wheel in a more positive way.
