Hello everyone!
A little dragonfly whispered in my ear recently that many of you enjoy stories and storytellers. I sure do!
Imagine for a moment that you have some time to curl up in your favorite spot with a mug of hot chocolate and a cookie. All settled?
O.K. now, imagine that a very nice lady with the unusual name of SunRaven MerryHerb settles down right next to you and begins to tell you wonderful stories. Stories about celebrations all around the year. Stories that talk about cool, shady forests with forest creatures, such as, mischievous little trolls, glittering faeries, funny ghosts, witches, wizards, giants, sailing on the sea, all manner of creatures and magical tales!
Are you with me? Alrighty then, with that in mind, I will be developing this page especially for your entertainment! You can even tell me what you think about the stories in the comment box. Won't this be fun? Let's begin!
The first tale I want to tell you is all about how some folks celebrate a holiday called Samhain, which is usually pronounced Sow - win. I know this seems a bit funny, but people called the Celts named it and the sounds of their alphabet aren't exactly the same as ours. Samhain is the time of the last harvest of the year before Winter and a celebration on The Wheel of the Year.
During this time the veil between our known physical world and the Otherworld is very thin. The spirits are able to cross over more easily and sometimes apparitions are called or accidently seen wondering around. In the past, this made some people afraid, (you’re not afraid of ghosts, are you?), so they dressed up in scary costumes with the hope that if a ghost came along it would be scared away! That is how our modern Halloween celebration and costume parties came to be.
Recently I published a story all about how a little troll named Billy accidently stumbled into a haunted cottage. Oh boy, did he get himself into a peck of trouble! It took everyone in 2 villages to help him out.
Come and join Billy and his friends for the great festival of Samhain and a big surprise! You can get the new story by clicking on this link:
